Welcome to Regatta 2.0, where creativity takes flight! The Airship Regatta isn't your typical competition—it's an exhilarating design challenge that invites participants to dive headfirst into the world of airship creation. Imagine crafting remote-controlled airships from the ground up, facing real-world constraints that spark innovation. Teams embark on a journey, fabricating, test flying, and refining their designs until they conquer the challenge at hand. It's not just about winning; it's about the thrill of bringing ideas to life, the joy of overcoming obstacles, and the camaraderie that comes with tackling a shared passion. Join us in the sky-high adventure of Regatta 2024, where the sky's the limit, and every airship tells a unique story of ingenuity and teamwork.

The Airship Regatta is a platform for students and LTA enthusiasts to design, build, and fly their indoor airships for specified tasks. The competition will be held on the 30th of June 2024 in an indoor sports stadium located inside the IIT Bombay campus. This competition aims to showcase their fabrication and flying airship skills and have much fun while doing it. 

The competition is being organized in collaboration with Aero Club of India. It is an approved international competition of Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and will be conducted in accordance with the FAI sporting code.

 Competition winners will be awarded with prizes worth ₹ 1.5 Lakhs /-.

• For Regatta 2.0, we have introduced two races which are described as follows: 

In Race 1, teams must navigate a figure-eight course around two pylons, aiming for the lowest flight time while deftly maneuvering around the obstacles. But here's the twist – failing to master those turns incurs penalties! The calculated time is a game-changer, factoring in the airship's unique characteristics. 

In Race 2, speed is not only everything; carrying a specific payload with precision to complete with redundant safety measures. The payload's weight becomes crucial, impacting the calculated flight time. This year's Regatta promises high-flying challenges, pushing the boundaries of airship design.
